Common Name The Robust Chiloglottis - The Large Bird Orchid

Flower Size to 1 3/5" [to 4 cm]

Found in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania occuring at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters on moist slopes and gullies in sub-alpine forests miniature sized, cold growing Australian terrestrial with an elliptic tuber giving rise to a short stem carrying 2 dark green, basal, elliptic, obtuse leaves and flowers there in early spring till mid summer on an solitary flowered, erect, 1.2" [3 cm] long inflorescence and has the largest, hinged lip, flowers in the genus.
