Common Name or Meaning Segawa's Chiloschista - In China Tai Wan Yi Xing Lan

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in southcentral Taiwan on tree trunks in forests at elevations of 700 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with an inconspicuous stem giving rise to many roots and carrying no leaves that blooms in the mid spring on an often pendulous, racemose, densely pubescent, 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, 6 to 15 flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, glabrous to sparsely pubescent, membraneous floral bracts and carrying slightly fleshy flowers.
