Found in northern Sumatra at elevations of 1366 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with tapering apically pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, lanceolate, acuminate, varigated often silver streaked, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, peduncle to 16.8" [42 cm] long, 4 sheathed, rachis more slender, to 8" [20 cm] long, to 24" [60 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence with spreading, lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying flowers that are .4 to 1.6" [1 to 4 cm] apart. .
