Common Name or Meaning The Colombian Cischweinfia

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Antioquia Colombia in wet montane forests at elevations of 1000 to 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with narrowly elliptical, laterally compressed, longitudinally grooved pseudobulbs partially enveloped basally by a few distichous, imbricating, conduplicate, lower leafless and upper leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear-lanceolate, acute, narrowing below into the conduplicate, short, narrow base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, short to 1.6" [4 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb through the leaf sheath axils and carrying fleshy flowers.
