Found in Minas Gerais and Brazilia DF states of Brazil as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem enveloped in the lower part by scale-like, well spaced sheaths and in the upper part by 5 to 6, ligular-lanceolate, erect, apically acute, basally ampexicaul leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary or terminal, short successively 2 to 3, several flowered inflorescence
