Cleisocentron abasii Cavestro 2002Photo by © Tokyo 2011 WebPage

Common Name Abas' Cleisocentron [Malaysian Orchid Enthusiast current]

Flower Size

Found in Sabah Borneo in mossy, lower montane riverine forests at elevations around 1200 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with an erect stem enveloped by leaf bearing sheaths carrying semi-terete, deeply channeled leaves and blooms on a 4 to 12" [10 to 30 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence.

In contrast to Cleisocentron merrillianum which has short inflorescence not longer than .6" [1.4 cm] long. I am sure that the orchid in the photo is C abasii as it has a long inflorescence
