Found in coastal Sao Paulo Brazil near the beach as a large sized, warm growing terrestrial with an erect, elongate stem carrying erect-patent, glaucous, grey green, somewhat coriaceous, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, amplexicaul below into the base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on terminal, single flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
