Common Name or Meaning The White Cranichis

Flower Size 1/5" [.5 cm]

Found in Rio de Janiero, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Parana and Rio Grande do Sul states of Brazil in bright shady places at the forests edge in deep humus as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial found in colonies with a basal rosette of 2 to 6, close to the ground, membraneous, shiny, oval to oblong-elliptic to lanceolate, acute, deep green, reticulate nerved, attenuate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, peduncle 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, provided with 2 to 4, adpressed sheathing bracts, rachis 1.6 to 4" [4 to 10 cm] long, to 60 flowered inflorescence with patent, lanceolate, acuminate shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
