Found in Nayarit state of Mexico in montane Mesophile forests in shady rich humus at elevations arounds 1175 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with 2 to 3, extended to erect, green reticulated with emerald green, carinate, suborbicular and obtuse or truncate to triangular-ovate and acute, gradually narrowing below into the cuneate, winged, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later fall and early winter on an erect, terminal, 7.4 to 10" [18.5 to 25 cm] long overall, rachis filiforme, successively 9 to 18 flowered inflorescence with amplectant, elliptic-lanceolate, acute longer to as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, ascending, successively opening, white flowers that not all are open at any one time.
"Vegetatively and florally, our species is reminiscent of C gracilis, but it is distinguished by being the latest Cranichis to flower, a rhombic-ovate dorsal sepal, obtuse that is .01 to .014" [2.5 to 3.5 mm] long, .06 to .08" [1.5 to 2 mm] wide; the lateral sepals suborbicular, obtuse-rounded with an apiculus, .0155 to .018" [3.7 to 4.5 mm] long, .0824 to .012" [2.6 to 3 mm] wide; the lateral lobes of the labellum rounded, the lobes much larger than the middle lobe; a deltoid anther and the column has wings as in the other species of Cranichis."
