Common Name or Meaning The Popayan Cranichis [A city in southern Colombia]

Found in Cauca department of Colombia at elevations of 2300 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, ovate, shortly acuminate, basally rounded into the narrowly canaliculate, elongate, petioalte base leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, terminal, delicate, terete, peduncle 15.6" [39 cm] long, apically densely glandular, provided with 7 sheathing bracts, rachis 1.6" [4 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying greenish small flowers.
