Found in Parana state of Brazil in primary forests at elevations below 1000 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with fasciculate, thickened roots giving rise to a basal rosette of 6 to 7, unequal in size, oblong, pointed, slightly asymetrical, short to regularlly pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, peduncle 6 to 6.5" [15 to 16 cm] long, from the middle upwards glandular-pilose, rachis glandular-pilose, 2.4 to 2.8" [6 to 7 cm] long,
Kraenzlin stated that this species was close to Cyclopogon chloroleucus but differs in its narrower leaves, equally narrower bracts and broader petals and a different lip.
