Found in Paraguay, southern and southeastern Brazil and northwestern Argentina at elevations around 600 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with a few, erect, linear-lanceolate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, conduplicate petiolate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 14" [35 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate acute bracts and as long as the ovary floral bracts.
Distinguished by the flared apex to the lip with a reniform apical lobe the lip without calli at the claw of the blade, and the lip base is sessile. The horn-like calli are mounted on rounded basal lobes.
