Common Name or Meaning Dutra's Cyclopogon [Brazilian Orchid Collector 1900's]

Found in Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil and Argentina as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 7 to 9, basal, erect-patent, lanceolate-elliptic, acute, attenuate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on a terminal, erect, to 12" [30 cm] long overall, rachis to 4" [10 cm] long, 20 to 25 flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, lanceolate, acuminate, thin, shorter to just longer than the flowers floral bracts and carrying secund flowers.

"Apparently a beautiful species which in its leaves is similar to Cyclopogon longibracteatus but in the inflorescence is more reminescent of Cyclopogon congestus but it is well distinguished from both by the quite chracteristic lip shape." Schlechter 1925
