Found in Chiapas state of Mexico and western Guatemala in cloud forests, humid forests and dry forests at elevcations of 1800 to 2500 meters as a medium to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 4 to 6, lanceolate-ovate to elliptic-ovate, acute, delicate, fleshy, dark green to yellowish green above, pale sivery green below, basally attenuate into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, terminal, peduncle 16.4 to 28" [41 to 70 cm] long, glandular in the upper half especially towards the apex, provided with 6 to 8, the lower longer than the internodes, glabrous, shorter above, glandular outside and along the margins sheathing bracts, rachis 2.6 to 6.8" [6.5 to 17 cm] long, lax, 15 to 35 flowered inflorescence with ovate, hyaline margins,sparsely glandulous on the margins, acuminate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying campanulate, medium sized, white flowers that dry yellow.
