Found in Tanzania in upland rainforests or nearby grasslands at elevations of 1800 to 3300 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with ellipsoid tubers giving rise to a slender, erect, glandular-hairy above stem carrying a single [rarely 2], erect, lanceolate to oblanceolate, acute, glabrous leaf that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, to 3.6" [9 cm] long, rather laxly several to many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary, sparsely glandular hairy floral bracts.
