Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, fleshy, densely leaved stems carrying many, erect-patent, glabrous, lanceolate, acute, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a subsessile, capituliform, densely 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with oval, obtuse bracts

Schlechter states that the flowers are yellowish on the outside, white internally and the lip is golden yellow in the center.
