Found in southeastern Yunnan province of China in montane forests on tree trunks at elevations around 1900 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphyte with clustered, cylindric, equally thick above and below, upper part upcurved, unbranched, many noded stems carrying oblong to oblong-lanceolate, leathery, obtuse and unequally bilobed apically, clasping sheath below leaves that blooms in the summer on a short to .8" [2 cm] long, lateral, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence arising from the upper nodes of the leafless stem and carrying fragrant flowers
