Found in Natal and Orange Free State South Africa on grassy slopes among rock and rocky soils at elevations of 2100 to 2900 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with kinear, rigid, erect leaves that blooms in the late spring and earlier summer on an erect, terminal, to 45 cm] long, laxly several flowered inflorescence.
