Common Name The Shining Disperis
Flower Size
Found in Cameroon in montane forests at elevations of 1800 to 2100 meters as a cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 2, opposite, serrate margined ovate, acute leaves that blooms on an erect, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence .
"This is clearly a near ally of D. thomensis from French Guinea, Sierra Leone, Sao Tome and Northern Rhodesia, from which it differs in various features of the floral structure. The most obvious difference is in the spurs on the lateral sepals, which in D. thomensis are long and project markedly from the sides of the sepals whereas in D. nitida they are very short and only visible on close examination. Correlated with this are very short rostellar arms in D. nitida, these being more than twice as long as in D. thomensis." Summerhayes 1954
