Common Name Cogniaux's Eltroplectris [French orchid botanist late 1800's early 1900's]

Found in Minas Gerais, Matto Grosso and Goias states of Brazil as a small to medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with two ovoid tubers one much smaller than the other that blooms in the winter without leaves, on an erect, thin peduncle 6 to 16" [15 to 40 cm] long, partially enveloped by 7 to 10, lanceolate, acute sheathing bracts, rachis erect, 1.2 to 3.2" [3 to 8 cm] long, 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, glabrous, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying whitish, erect-spreading flowers
Similar to Eltroplectris longicornu but with smaller flowers with different details, but especially the much shorter spur.
