Found in Haiti in montane primary forests at elevations around 850 meters as a small sized, warm growing terrestrial with a stem-like, decumbent to ascending rhizome carrying 6 to 10, light green, ovate, acute, slightly oblique, somewhat reticulate, membraneous, medially sulcate above, carinate beneath, well spaced below becoming imbricate above, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, 4 to 6.6" [10 to 16.5 cm] long, to 40 flowered inflorescence with shortly pilose, long triangular, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
