Found in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in thickets on sandy soils, coastal bushland and in woodlands at elevations of sea level to 1300 meters as a large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with erect, proximate, narrowly cylindrical-conical to fusiform, green pseudobulbous growths giving rise to 6 to 14, fleshy, conduplicate, linear, acute to acuminate, margins serrulate leaves that blooms in the summer on 1 to 2, erect, laxly 5 to 15 flowered inflorescence with 4 short, acute bracts and lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts
