Found in northern Sumatra on mossy tree branches in montane forests at elevations around 1500 to 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome producing freely branching aerial stems at intervals of .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] carrying olive green often suffused with red pseudobulbs carrying a single leaf that blooms in the summer and again in the winter on several, axillary or behind or to the side of the leaf, short, single flowered inflorescence carrying fresh scented flowers.
