Common Name The Offshoot Funkiella

Found in Veracruz and Chiapas states of Mexico and Huehuetenango department of Guatemala at elevations around 3000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single tuberous root without leaves that blooms in the later summer on a slender, rigidly erect, provided with adpresased, tubular, subobtuse to acute sheathing bracts, to 12" [30 cm] tall, 2 flowered inflorescence with large, lanceolate, acuminate, alomost as long as the flower floral bracts and carrying large flowers.
