Common Name or Meaning The Smooth Rim Lip Gastrochilus

Found in Taiwan on tree trunks at elevations of 2100 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a simple, unbranched, pendulous, green scattered with red to reddish purple spots, glabrous stem enveloped by leaf sheaths carrying alternate, distichous, sessile, lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong, obtuse and slightly emarginate at apex, obtuse at base, thickly fleshy, smooth, densely scattered with red spot spots on both surfaces, glabrous, midrib with impressed surface and elevated beneath, lustrous green surface and pale green beneath leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, short, single to rarely 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, acute, half as lonmg as the ovary floral bracts and carrying 1 to 2 scentless, yellowish flowers
Gastrochilus integrilabellus is readily recognized by its .8 to 1.4" [2 to 3.5 cm] long stem, alternate, distichous, thickly fleshy, lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong leaves and 1 to 2 flower(s) with a pure white, rectangular epichile which has a large light green palque with red spots in the central region, which is entire and somewhat erect at margins."
