Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations around 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to sometimes branching, thin, somewhat compressed, densely leafy stems carrying erect-patent, glabrous, fleshy, linear to linear-ligulate, obtuse, oblique apically, contracted below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, single flowered inflorescence.
