Common Name The Two Haired ? Gomphichis
Flower Size
Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia at elevations around 2800 meters as a large to giant sized, cold growing terrestrial that with leaves not seen that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, peduncle to 48" [120 cm] long, rachis 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with oblong-ligulate, pubescent, longer than the ovary floral braacts.
"Very similar to Gomphichis altissima and described at the same time but G. cladotricha has oblong elliptic petals with an obtuse to subtruncate apex while G. altissima has obovate petals with an acute apex." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2019
