Common Name Jaramillo's Gomphichis [Colombian Collector of orchids]

Found in Cundinamarca, Huila, Magdalena, Risaralda and Tolima departments of Colombia as well as Mérida state of Venezuela in high montane forests, subparamo and paramo forests at elevations around 2500 to 3700 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with 1 basal, withered at blooming leaf that blooms at most time of the year on a terminal, erect, glabrous below, glandular above, peduncle to 25.2" [63.5 cm] long, provided with 7 glabrous bracts, rachis 4.42" [11.5 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, somewhat oblique, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small flowers with externally densely pubescent sepals.
