Found in northwest Venezuela at elevations around 2500 meters as a large sized [in bloom], cold growing terrestrial with subcoriaceous, 4 basal and a few, gradually getting smaller above, cauline, lanceolate, acuminate, cuneate and attenuate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, to 34" [85 cm] long overall, glabrous, rachis to 4.8" [12 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with glabrous, narrowly triangular-ovate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying medium sized flowers.
