Common Name The Bizarre Gongora

Flower Size 3.5" [8.75 cm]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 1000 to 1600 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing epiphytic species with narrowly ovoid, ridged pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, erect, plicate, elliptical, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a basal, to 2' [60 cm] long, pendant, densly many flowered inflorescence with spicily fragrant, longer-lasting flowers.
