Common Name or Meaning Loerzing's Habenaria

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in central and eastern Java on roadside cuttings and between rocks on steep hillsides at elevations around 760 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 3 narrowly lanceolate, acute, raised midrib beneath, net veined, gradually narrowing below leaves becoming smaller above that blooms in the spring on an erect, about peduncle long long ribbed, 2.8 to 6" [about 7 to 15 cm] long, provided with 2 to 4 leaf-like, clasping, finely acuminate, decreasing in size upwards bracts rachis angular 2" [5 cm] long, well spaced, 15 to 35 flowered inflorescence with braodly ovate to triangular base, long and narrowly pointed, concave floral bracts.
