Found in Cusco department of Peru in open grassy paramo at elvations of 3800 to 3900 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a central tuberous swelling giving rise to an erect, leafy, except at the sheathed base carrying lanceolate-elliptic to ovate-lanceolateacute to acuminate, loosely amplexicaul basally leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, to 2.8" [7 cm] long, rather densely to 9 flowered inflorescence with relatively large, foliaceous, lanceolate, lanceolate-ovate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying small green flowers.

Remarkable for its abbreviated spur and appears to lack close allies.
