Found in Goias state of Brazil amid rocky outcrops in sandy, dry soil or seasonally humid campo limpo, in dark, sandy-clay soils at elevations of 1100 to 1600 meters as a medium to just large sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect, leafy stem carrying 4 to 7, narrow, linear, on the middle of the stem, decreasing in size towards the apex, for the most part adpressed to the stem leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an eret, terminal, 3.6 to 9.2" [9 to 23 cm] long, spirally arranged, laxly 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate to ovate-lanceolate, broadly ellip[ti to orbicular, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying resupinate, green, glabrous flowers.

" Similar to H. rodriguesii in general morphology, but distinguished by the dorsal sepal .24 to .36 [6 to 9 mm] long vs .4 to .56" [10 to 14 mm] long, petal anterior segment.44 to .64" [11 to 16 mm] long vs .8 to 1.3" [20 to 33 mm] long, spur .52 to .68" [13 to 17 mm] long, vs .64 to .84" [16 to 21 mm] long, straight or only slightly curved, and anther canals curved upwards vs straight, perpendicular to the anther loculi.
