Found in La Paz department of Bolivia at elevationms around 2650 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with ellipsoid tubers giving rise to a short erect stem carrying a rosette of 2 to 4, elliptic, held just above the baseacute leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, 2.4" [6 cm] long, 5 to 9 flowered inflorescence
