Common Name The Wolong Habenaria [Wolongzhen a town in Sichuan Province China] - In China Wo Long Yu Feng Hua

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in western Sichuan province of China in forests at elevations around 2200 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with oblong, fleshy tubers giving rise to an erect, pubescent stem carrying 2, nearly opposite, spreading horizontally, adaxially with yellowish white markingss, cordate to ovate, slightly fleshy, abruptly narrowing below into the amplexicaul base leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, pubesccent, racemose, 2.8 to 4" [7 to 10 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, shorter than the ovary, ciliate, acuminate floral bract.

CAUTION!! Kew puts this species as a synonym of Habenaria aitchisonii Rchb.f. 1886, I have left them separate for now
