Found in Fuijian province of China on moss covered rocks at elevations around 250 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with ovoid tubers giving rie to an erect, slender, green with purple marked stems provided with a tubular, basal sheath and carrying a single, subbasal, elliptic, acute,adaxailly green with purple markings, rarely all greeen, abaxially plae green, contracted below into an amplexicaul base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, 2.4 to 2.8" [6 to 7 cm] long, 1 to 13 flowered inflorescence with elliptic to ovate, acuminate, connivent and shrter than the ovary floral bract
