Common Name The Tongue-Like Leaf Herminium - In China - Ya Zhi Jiao Pan Lan south

Found in western Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan provinces of China on grassy slopes at elevations of 3100 to 3600 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with oblong-ellipsoid tubers giving rise to an erect stem provided with 1 to 2, basal, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, basal, arising from within the basal sheaths , oblong-elliptic to oblong-ovate, subacute leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, 2.8 to 4" [7 to 10 cm] long, peduncle cylindric, ebracteate, rachis .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long, laxly to subdensely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
