Common Name The Aromatic Laelia [refers to the fragrant flowers]

Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on mountain summits at elevations around 1650 meters as a miniature [without inflorescence] sized, cool growing saxicolus, caespitose terrestrial with an inconspicuous rhizome giving rise to green, obclavate pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by papery deciduous sheaths and carrying a single, dark green, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, acute apically, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on a terminal, racemose, to 7.2" [18 cm] long, rachis green, laterally compressed, simultaneously 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying diurnally, heavily scented, upward facing flowers.
