Common Name Ortiz's Lepanthes [Padre Pedro Ortiz Colombian Priest and Orchidologist 2012]

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia in cloud forests within mosses at elevations of 2200 to 2300 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to a pendent, repent ramicaul enveloped by a single leapanthiform sheath with spiculate margins carrying a single green with darker green to purple, pendent, densely coriceous, widely elliptic, obtuse, abruptly narrowing below into the shortly petiolate, cuneate base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on several, successive, congested, peduncel thin, ascending, to .12" [3 mm] long, successively single, 5 to 6 flowered inflorescence with spiculate, much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
