Found in western New Guinea in lowland forests on riverside trees at elvations around 400 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with a creeping, elongated, branched, bent, subterete rhizome enveloped by distichous, tubular, acute, keeled, becoming larger towards the apex sheaths and giving rise to very small, .52 to .8" [1.3 to 2 cm] between each, at an acute angle to the rhizome, obliquely ovoid pseudobulb initially covered with conduplicate, acuminate, acute, keeled, sheaths that increase in size upwards and carrying a single, erect, articulated, linear, mid-rib grooved above, keeled below, conduplicate base leaf that blooms in later spring on an erect, peduncle ancipitous, 4 to 4.4" [10 to 11 cm] long, near the middle .24 to .32" [0.06 to 0.08 cm] wide, at the apex dilated to .6 to .68" [.15 to .17 cm], provided with pectinate bracts, rachis compressed, flexuose, at least .52" [1.3 cm] long, at the apex successively single, densely several-flowered inflorescence with distichous, patent, lightly conduplicate, acute, strongly keeled, dorsally curved, lowermost longer floral bracts and carrying orange, very small flowers
