Found in Guangxi province of China in evergreen, broad-leaved forest at 1300 meters as a small to just medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with cylindric, tapering pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 3 to 4 sheaths and carrying subspherical to ellipsoid, black bubils, with 4 to 7, apical, elliptic-lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, wrinkled, membraneous, margin undulate, contracting belolw into the clasping, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, often recurved, peduncle ridged, bracteate, rachis 3.6 to 4.8" [9 to 12 cm] long, 5.6 to 6.8" [14 to 17 cm] long overall, 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, carinate abaxially, purple floral bracts.
