Found on Mindanao in the Philippines at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with pyriform, reddish green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-oblong, reddish green, veined leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, peduncle provided with elongate, lanceolate, scale-like acuminate bracts, racemose, to 10" [25 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate floral bracts and carrying greenish-yellow flowers.

This species is similar to L pallida
