Found in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil at elevations of 200 to 1800 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphytye with elongate, pendant, divaricately branching, rather slender stems giving rise to remote, in the axils of the branches, ovoid, strongly compressed pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by a pair of distichous, coriaceous, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect-spreading, coriaceous, oblong-lanceolate, to elliptic-oblong, acute, cuneate below leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on numerous, very short, fascicled in the axils of the cauline sheaths, each .4" [1 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
