Found in Huanuco department of Peru on steep open cliffs along riversat elevations around 720 meters as a medium sized, warm growing terrestrial orchid with a basal rosette of several, obovate-oblanceolate, acute, narrowing below into the cuneate base leaves that blooms in the late summer on a terminal, erect, provided with several brown sheathing bracts, 12" [30 cm] long overall, rachis brown, laxly several flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying tubular, inconspicuous, densely glandular outside, yellow-brown flowers.
