Common Name The Cordillera Llanganates Microchilus [A Mountain range in southern Ecuadsor where the type was found]

Found in Tungurhua province of Ecuador as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial with a robust rhizome giving rise to an erect, robust, leafy stem carrying obliquely lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, pubescent, 12" [30 cm] long overall, loosely several flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying externally pubescent, fleshy flowers.
