Found in Panama province of Panama at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with an erect, terete stem carrying 5 to 6, elliptic, subacuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, pubescent, 10" [25 cm] long, peduncle 5.6" [14 cm] long, provided with 4, scattered sheathing bracts, rachis 4.4" [11 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with elliptic-lanceolate, acute, white twice longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying externally pubescent, creamy white flowers.

"This species is related toMicrochilus paleaceus , but it differs from it in having larger flowers .32 versus .26 to .268" (8 vs. 6.5 to 6.7 mm long), a longer spur .2 versus .14 to .148" (5 vs. 3.5 to 3.7 mm), a broader hypochile .12 versus .08" (3 vs. 2 mm), and longer column .16 versus .12" (4 vs. 3 mm) long."
