Found in Tungurahua province of Ecuador at elevations of 1240 to 1450 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with a terete, erect stem carrying 4, in the upper half, obliquely ovate-lanceolate to ovate- elliptic, acute to subacuminate, transversely mottled dark green, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, pubescent, to 12.24" [33.1 cm] long, peduncle 7.64" [19.1 cm] long, provided with 7, lax sheathing bracts, rachis 5.6" [14 cm] long, subsecund, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying externally, laxly pubescent, white, basally green flowers.
