Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia in submonatane forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect, terete stem carrying 5 to 8 ovate, acute, green, delicately pale green spotted, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, terminal, pubescent, 10" [25 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute, cilikate along the margins sparsely in the lower half, pale green, much longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying externally densely glandular, whitish flowers with dull brown galea, .

"Similar to M carchiensis but it generally has larger flowers, sepals [6.5 to 7 mm long versus 4 to 4.5 mm long, with obliquely truncate petals versus obliquely obtuse, the thickened basal part of the hypopchile versus a thin hypochile and a twice longer spur .24" versus .12" [6 mm versus 3 mm] .
