Found in Boyaca, Meta and Arauca department of Colombia amongst mosses in the paramo of Sumapaz at elevations of 4300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with several, held in a basal rosette, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, subobtuse, narrowing below in to the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, 7" long overall, rachis to 1.6" [4 cm] long, conical, very dense, many flowered inflorescence with flabellate from the cuneate lower part, undulate margined, erose, almost twice as long as the ovary floral bracts.
"The species is related to Myrosmodes nubigenum , but the lip is two times larger, widest in the middle, obtrullate in outline, lateral sepals cochleate with erose margins, dorsal sepal oblong-elliptic with keeled apex." Szlach., Mytnik & S.Nowak 2012
Kew now considers this one as a synonym of Myrosmodes nubigenum . I have left them separate for now pending more research.
