Common Name or Meaning The Shaolinch Odontochilus

Flower Size .12 to .14" [3 to 3.5 mm]

Found in Taiwan on montane slopes at elevations of 1500 to 2010 meters as a mini-moiniature sized, cool to just cold growing terrestrial with a e creeping, fleshy, pale purple, glabrous rhizome giving rise to an erect, simple, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long, reddish purple, covered with glandular hairs stem carrying 2, simple, alternate, at the base of stem, blade ovate, acute at apex, cordate at base, fleshy, entire at the margins, dark green and tinged with pale purplish and dark to pale green beneath, glabrous on both surfaces, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, terminal, rachis .32 to .48" [.8 to 1.2 cm] long, densely covered with glandular hairs, 3 to 4 flwoered inflorescence with oblong, acuminate at apex, shoreter to as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying smaller, white to grayish white flowers.
